Dear Backers,

The campaign is nearing its final days, and as a thank you for our current backers, we have decided to adjust the stretch goals. We are unlocking the add-on cards for everyone and have adjusted the target for the 3D cover panel stretch goal.

As always, we thank you for your ongoing support!

First review!
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 09, 2019 at 10:39:05 PM

Dear Backers,

Only a small update today (we'll have more tomorrow): We have our first review by "Heimspiele.info", a popular German tabletop gaming site.

Their homepage is accessible here: http://www.heimspiele.info/hp/.

You can find the SPACE INVADERS review here: Review. An English version translated by Google is here: Translated.

This is their conclusion:

"To implement what is in principle a shooter via indirect deck-building (energy- and movement-cards mixed with researched technologies that get drawn one after the other into the game) and to have players compete and move against each other presents itself as a skillfully implemented, if a bit obvious, idea that entertained and made sense during all of our test-sessions. The rounds felt (even with the prototype) casual and easy, but never really repetitive, even if the principle remains unchanged of course, as different chances and challenges present themselves in every round - on the one hand cards are reshuffled for each game (and most likely new cards will be added to the game so you can’t ever be sure what got actually mixed in) and on the other hand even with watching (and tracking) the cards and research paths of the other players there are always twists that one is unable to predict. Only the “Boss-UFO” felt (still) a bit bland, as it has no particularly special effects.

All in all this is an exiting idea that is being implemented with heart and promises a lot of fun!

5 of 6 points."

Lastly, something unrelated but fun - If you are interested in Retro-Gaming in general, please check out this campaign by our friends at Piko Interactive: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/retrogames/switchblade-a-retro-video-game-action-figure-line

Piko is totally focused on retro projects and they are working on a line of video game character action figures as well as new ports for the Sega Genesis and the Atari Jaguar. Check it it out!

As always, thank you so much for your support from the team at 612 Games!

More than US$ 115,000 raised. Solo Mode unlocked & more!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 30, 2019 at 09:47:49 PM

A big "Thank You" to our more than 2300 backers for pledging over US$ 115,000 for SPACE INVADERS - THE BOARDGAME and unlocking the Solo Mode!

There is more: We have decided to unlock the Print'n Play edition early and will be adding a new $1 reward level (which is planned to go live within 24 hours) that will give access to the print'n play version to help spread the word about the campaign. If you know anyone that could be interested, please share the news!

We also introduced two discounted 5-Pack rewards that offer discounts for the game itself as well as shipping - for those of you that are interested in re-selling or  organizing a group buy. If you are interested in higher quantities, please contact us directly.

Lastly, we have made draft game rules available for download. Please note that this is far from the final layout (which we will make available after the close of the campaign) and changes are still possible: Link.

Thanks for your continued support!

Close to 2000 Backers, New Bonus Goals, New Video
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 23, 2019 at 01:18:34 AM

Dear Backers,

Thank you for your continued support! By now we have raised over US$90,000 for the campaign and are supported by close to 2000 backers - we can not express how grateful we are. Today we'd like to shine some light onto new "Bonus Level" digital rewards that we added to the campaign, as well as some exciting additional stretch goals. If you are interested in any of these upgrades, please check them out on the campaign page and help share the word about SPACE INVADERS!

One of the items requested the most by the community is a full play session video. We are happy to announce that this video is currently being processed by YouTube. The full session clocks in at over one hour, for those of you that are just looking for a general idea how the game will be played, we are adding a 3 minute timelapse version of the video to this update. If you like, check out the video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LjXbd-uEX5Q

Please notice that this video was created with a prototype that uses off-the-shelf game pieces and replaces the bunker elements with d10 dice - this is comparable to the Print'n Play version that you'd be able to make at home!

English draft rules will follow this video within a few days.

As always, thanks for all your help and input!
