Shipping Update 2

Dear Backers,
Please find additional information regarding the shipment status below:
* US: It has been asked if US addresses can be updated due to the delayed shipment. Unfortunately that is not possible, as mentioned, the packages have been labeled already, are on a freighter and out of reach for us. US tracking codes are now available in backerkit (for all except very recent orders). The carrier will be UPS.
* For the countries/regions mentioned below, all tracking codes are available in backerkit. Some carriers will not show these codes as active before the packages are in their regional distribution center. We'd like to point to the general remarks about how the tracking codes work in our last update.
Here are additional per-country infos:
Canada - Canada Post:
Not on the same timeline as the US, delivery estimation is sometime next week.
Japan - Japan Post: Delieveries have started, estimated to be complete within 1 to 2 weeks.
Remaining Asian countries (various carriers): Deliveries expected within 5 to 7 days.
Australia - Australia Post: Deliveries also expected within 5 to 7 days.
For the countries not specifically mentioned here (E.g. New Zealand, Mexico and others) we don't have tracking codes or delivery estimates yet, but they should also be available soon.

Shipping Update

Dear Backers,
After receiving updated information from our fulfillment company, today we have a shipping status update for several countries.
Tracking Codes in General:
As we have been asked a few times and needed to confirm with Shipkoo ourselves - receiving a tracking code does not, or not necessarily, mean that your local post office or mail carrier has the package yet, or that they have been imported to your country. It means that the games have received postage labels at a regional fulfillment center. They may still need to be transported to your country and go through customs, which in some cases will unfortunately take longer than the actual shipment by your regional mail carrier.
UK - Royal Mail:
Was shipped first, also due to the expectation of Brexit related delays during import. Unfortunately we noticed an address labeling error with the first batch of packages (Tracking codes uploaded around March 5th) and to correct this Shipkoo had to reroute and relabel these packages. The new tracking codes/links are available on your backerkit page. You are only affected if you are receiving exactly one product ( that means customers with Deluxe Edition or additional orders/rewards are not affected and their tracking codes are correct ). We have checked a few tracking codes and they showed that Royal Mail now has the games in hand ( and is asking for you to choose a delivery option? ).
Asia-Pacific - SF Express:
We only have confirmation for China and HK, all customers there should have received their games by now.
No specific update yet for other countries in the region (Australia, Japan etc), except that all games should arrive within two weeks tops.
EU - all countries - DHL:
Most EU customers have their tracking codes. For the EU as well, all games should arrive within the next two weeks tops.
US:
Unfortunately we had to learn that most US bound games, with the exception of a few very large orders that have arrived, are unfortunately still stuck in a container on a freighter in China, due to a backlog and unexpected friction in China->US freight processing. They are scheduled to depart on Wednesday (24th), which unfortunately results in additional delivery times of 4 to 5 weeks from now for US backers.
Remainder of North America & South America:
At this point we don't know if this also applies to other North American or even South American orders, or if that is a US specific problem. We'll let you know as soon as we find out.

State of Affairs

Dear Backers,
A belated Happy New Year! We apologize for the long time between updates, Covid side effects have hit several of our projects pretty hard, but on the positive side, SPACE INVADES - THE BOARDGAME is about to wrap up. Let's jump right into the status:
Four topics in this update - Production, Shipping and an Update on the Video Game. We also have a short unboxing video of the Deluxe Edition.
1. Production
As anticipated, production of all games was finalized last year - during our Christmas break - we have a couple of behind the scenes images from the factory for you:

Shipping arrengements were a much bigger problem than expected, our original plans from a year ago were obviously not applicable any longer. Due to Covid, there is less freight and courier capacity and at this point in time more demand then usual, which frankly created a situation that is largely cost prohibitive for small players like us. We had to completely rethink the approach we take and believe now that we have found a solution that allows us to start shipping in a very short time. The conditions (VAT etc) for backers should remain unchanged and the majority of you should receive the products in February. We will lock addresses within a few days! If you still need to make changes to your address please do so as soon as possible!
3. The Video Game
Some sad news here: Unfortunately, the lead programmer of the video game had a stroke. As far as we know, he is on the road to recovery, but we had to transfer the project to a new team. Even though the project was quite close to completion, this does cause significant delays - the release is currently tba. The project will be still completed, but unfortunately you will receive your copies quite a bit after the physical game.
4. Deluxe Edition Video
Lastly, here is a short video showing the Deluxe Edition being unboxed. Please note that the bunker elements come with protective wrapping still attached in order to make sure they come unscratched. We will have more in depth material including a look at the other editions a bit down the road.

Addresses / Survey

Dear Backers,
In preparation of shipping, we will lock down addresses next Monday, 12/21/21.
Please make sure that your addresses are up to date by that time. Also, there are still about 5% of backers that did not complete their surveys yet. Please verify that your backer surveys have been completed before that date, in order to avoid delays in receiving your rewards.
