We just received the pre-production samples for most of the printed components!
When you look at the following images, please have in mind that these components were partially hand cut and hand folded, as opposed to precision machine cut and precision machine folded in mass production. You may notice some of these components are slightly off center as a result.
There may also be minor color variations compared to the production copies we will ultimately ship, but these samples are used for manufacturing approvals and they are very close to the final items. We are overall very happy with the quality!

You may notice some minor scuffs here, the mass produced boxes will have an additional anti-scratch coat.
The final copies will include a card sorting tray as a box insert.
What you see here is equivalent to the Standard edition setup.
Unfortunately we did not yet receive the Deluxe Edition box, but we did receive some pictures. The final version will look marginally different, nevertheless, the following images should give you a good first impression:
This is also missing the - translucent - box insert.
We are currently in the approval process for these items with Taito and we hope we can keep up the momentum. We also hope to receive the Deluxe Edition box and the trays very soon and will share some additional photos then.

It took a long time, but we are now feeling cautiously optimistic that we are a lot closer to manufacturing. While we have nothing new in hand yet, Panda has sent us a few images of some of the packaging components and promised to send the outstanding samples this week - those still need approvals. We have pressed hard to get this moving again, and while we have to apologize for the long delay (again), as mentioned before, ultimately we are in the same boat as you - we now have to wait for the manufacturer to do their job. We don't know what the holdup was - there were several points at which we thought we'd have had some new info to share, but ultimately before today all of this fell through. Nevertheless, let me assure you (again) that we will do all in our power to see this project through! Personally, I believe we will wrap up reasonably quickly now - fingers crossed. We will know more once the samples arrive.

If all goes well, the next update should come quickly, as soon as we receive the remaining samples.
Final comment: We know that we are bad at social media and forum management and have admitted to that before. This is unlikely to change, we simply don't have the bandwidth/staff at this point. Here is a short update for our ongoing sample saga. Today, with a small import related delay, we received the game token samples. This time, they look very nice! Here are a few images:
It is not easy to convey via photo, but we hope you can see that the tokens have a nice metallic looking aura effect, that seems to be changing slightly depending on light angle.
We also received images of the fixed playmat:
Without trying to jinx it, it seems there is some momentum now and we hope we'll be able to show you some additional images soon, once we have the playmat in hand.
